Clandestine Paris Kitchens

Call them what you want, gatherings, clandestine kitchens, salons; they were once all the rage in Europe and are now gathering more steam as food gets gobbled up by the big, international food machine and spit out as inedible crap.

Certainly the idea of a social gathering in a home bristling with intellectuals saying interesting things with an accent (who also happen to love great grub) is a compelling treat to those who come from the land of “We barely make enough money to eat at McDonalds but still want our government to bust unions and give our tax contributions gleefully to the rich people who make gambling instruments out of our mortgages and bring down the world economy.”

But I digress. Hip Paris has uncovered these Underground Restaurants in Paris: Three Hidden Kitchens for your culinary consideration. To the list I might add aux chiens lunatiques because I like the name and they still have a website so I will assume they’re still stirring soup occasionally. Besides, David Lebovitz likes it: Hidden Kitchen, Chien Lunatique, Spring & Frenchie. The link also introduces you to a few more places foodies might want to check out.

So, hmm, why are all these places run by foreigners?
