With apologies – making a living takes way too much time away from France.
For a quick fantasy shopping fix, try the March issue of Lucky Magazine. There’s a fabulous section: Shopping Trip – Paris, with an alpha list and thumbnail photos of its 50 top shops, sampled below, but check the other 45 for yourself:
– Almost famous (fashion boutique)
-Black Block, in the Palais de Tokyo museum, a gift store open until midnight!
-Manoush (gypsy in French) – folkloric fare, including dresses trimmed in ermine
-Repetto – home of the first kidskin dance shoe, created in 1947 and still the place to go for dance shoes, including pointe shoes if you happen to be a ballerina
-Woch Dom – a thrift store, “slightly gothic boutique”, with goods mostly from the 70’s and 80’s, less than 50 euros.
