It’s cold outside, gray, raining, and even snowy. In a word, Christmas weather in the north. But there is hope and that hope is embodied in beautiful, golden honey – summer in a jar.
Turns out the French are honey fanatics (surprised?). And you can share the experience and develop a little expertise of your own in Paris at Les Ruchers du Roy, 37, rue de Roi de Sicile, 4th Arr., 01-42-72-02-96. The shop sells over 50 varieties of honey, from very light and flowery to dark, rich, country-style flavors. You can even buy a spice cake, (pain d’epices) made with 25% honey. The shopkeeper will match you to your honey, depending on what you want to do with it. You can even use honey for your health; for example, maritime lavender honey is relaxing, while clementine tree honey is good for your digestion.
You can also go on a honey quest at at the outdoor street markets . . .
Enjoy!
