Espace Dali - yes, Salvador Dali

Welcome to the Espace Dali, a museum in Montmarte dedicated to the grand master of 20th century surrealism: Salvador Dali. M. Dali was indeed an amazingly talented artist and a man with a unique vision. He was also a marketing genius. This museum celebrates Dali’s paintings, a complete set of his signed engravings, and his sculptures, such as Alice in Wonderland (Alice au pays des merveilles). In keeping with the forward-looking genius it celebrates, the Espace Dali hosts innovative, exhibits, such as the recent one that utilized holograms and optical illusions to illuminate Dali’s art. Espace Dali challenged the masters of haute couture to create dresses that reflected Dali’s aesthetic (homages). Paco Rabanne, Sonia Rykiel, Loris Azzaro, Hanae Mori, Moschine, Paul Smith, Trussardi and others rose to the challenge.

Because the directions are a little complicated, I have included the museum’s own directions. It does appear that the Espace Dali may not be accessible if a person has trouble walking, although the directions do mention a funicular.

By foot : follow the direction « Place du Tertre ». ESPACE DALÍ is 100 feet from the Place du Tertre.
Metro : Abbesses, Anvers et Lamarck-Caulaincourt : ligne 2 (Anvers) or ligne 12 (Abbesses) + Funicular
By bus : 54 – 80 – Montmartrobus
By coach :
Located in the middle of the Montmartre village, ESPACE DALÍ is not directly accessible by coach. However, a coach stop for passengers is located at the bottom of the Butte Montmartre, on Rochechouard Boulevard, near subway Anvers.
Then, you can easily find the museum by going up the hill of the Sacré Coeur (by stairs or by taking the funicular).
Once at the top of the hill, go left, follow the direction of Place du Tertre.
ESPACE DALÍ is situated behind Place du Tertre. (100 feet)
15 minutes are necessary to go from Rochechouard Boulevard to ESPACE DALÍ

Dali had a very unusual take on the world. Come to Montmarte and enjoy!
